Caroline Alexander Receives Scholarship at Randolph-Macon Academy

2011 Dec 1

C. Grace Alexander, the daughter of Lyle and Mindy Alexander of Front Royal, has received the Nicholas G. Ryder '65 Flight Scholarship at Randolph-Macon Academy. This scholarship was established in 2007 through gifts from Mr. Nicholas Ryder and the Ryder family. It will provide a financial award to a student who has had a life-long goal of becoming a pilot, and has a deep passion for flight; recipients should also be in good academic standing, have good leadership skills and character values, and have demonstrated a deep desire to participate in the R-MA flight program.

Grace was formally presented with the scholarship during a ceremony held during Fall Family Weekend on November 5, 2011. She is a sophomore at Randolph-Macon Academy

Randolph-Macon Academy (R-MA), founded in 1892, is a college-preparatory, coeducational boarding school for students in grades 6 through 12. Students in grades 9-12 participate in R-MA's 91st Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC), which is currently recognized as an Outstanding Unit with Merit, and have the opportunity to participate in the Academy's unique flight program. R-MA is affiliated with the United Methodist Church and is located in Front Royal, VA.
