Emma Bunker Receives Recognition During Randolph-Macon Academy's 2016 Class Night

During Randolph-Macon Academy's prestigious Class Night Awards ceremony on May 26, 2016, the top students were recognized. Emma Bunker of Berryville, the daughter of Rev. Jonathan Bunker and Dr. Susan Gawalt of Berryville VA, received the Randolph-Macon Academy Scholar/Athlete Award. This award is presented in order to honor academic and athletic excellence. Emma also won two more awards for the 2016 R-MA Class Night. The first being the Commandants Military Excellence Award which is presented to a cadet officer who, throughout the academic year, has demonstrated the characteristics of leadership, integrity and loyalty, and has shown exceptional military bearing and appearance and exemplary execution of all assigned duties and responsibilities within the cadet corps at Randolph-Macon Academy. The second award presented to her was the Best All-Around Cadet Award which is awarded to the cadet in the senior class who, in the opinion of the faculty, possesses among others, the following high qualities of character: Honor, Courage, Scholarship, Leadership, and Service.

Emma was a senior at the Academy during the 2015-16 school year.
