Jacob Dodson Receives Scholarship at Randolph-Macon Academy

Jacob Allen Dodson, the son of Frank & Carol Dodson of Front Royal, has received the Joseph F. Silek, Sr. Scholarship at Randolph-Macon Academy. The Joseph F. Silek, Sr., Scholarship was established in December of 1990 to provide meritorious students with a financial award to attend Randolph-Macon Academy. This scholarship is named in honor of Joseph Silek, Sr., who served on the Board of Trustees for R-MA for 11 years until his death in 1990. Mr. A. Newth Morris, III provided the first donation; additional donations have been provided by family, alumni, and friends.

Jake was formally presented with the scholarship during a ceremony held during Fall Family Weekend on November 5, 2011. He is a freshman at Randolph-Macon Academy

Randolph-Macon Academy (R-MA), founded in 1892, is a college-preparatory, coeducational boarding school for students in grades 6 through 12. Students in grades 9-12 participate in R-MA's 91st Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC), which is currently recognized as an Outstanding Unit with Merit, and have the opportunity to participate in the Academy's unique flight program. R-MA is affiliated with the United Methodist Church and is located in Front Royal, VA.
