Jingwen Gong of Randolph-Macon Academy Selected to District Chorus

2015 Nov 10

Jingwen Gong of Beijing has been selected to the District XIV Chorus during an audition that took place at Sherando High School in Stephens City, VA on November 3, 2015. She scored first on the audition for "Soprano 1," which is considered the highest and most difficult part to audition for.

Alice is the daughter of Mr. Benkui Gong and Mrs. Shuyan Zhang of Beijing. She is a senior at Randolph-Macon Academy (R-MA) in Front Royal, VA.

"This year's audition piece was extremely difficult, and I am very proud of everyone who tried out," said Michael DeMato, R-MA's chorus director. A total of four R-MA students earned places in the District XIV Chorus for 2016, with two others being selected as alternates. They will join other talented singers from Warren Frederick, Clarke, Fauquier, Rappahannock, and Shenandoah Counties to put on the District XIV Chorus Concert on February 13, 2016 at Millbrook High School in Winchester, VA.
