John R. Backo Receives Award at Randolph-Macon Academy Middle School

John R. Backo was recognized for outstanding achievements and contributions at Randolph-Macon Academy Middle School's end-of-year awards ceremony held June 5, 2013. Backo, who is the son of Jerry and Karen Smith of Warrenton, received the Most Improved Student Award in English 7 Literature. he also received a Certificate of Appreciation for acting as Chapel Assistant and a Community Service Award for serving more than 30 hours on various projects. He was a seventh grade student at R-MA Middle School during the 2012-13 school year.
