McKenzie Marshall Receives Honors at Randolph-Macon Academy

Randolph-Macon Academy held a special ceremony on November 6, 2010 during Fall Family Weekend to recognize student achievement. Cadet McKenzie M. Marshall, the daughter of Robert and Terri Marshall of Palmyra, was awarded an Eagle Scholars Scholarship, the Lyle and Nancy McFall and Class of 1951 Scholarship and the Austin Family Scholarship. McKenzie is a sophomore at the Academy.

The Eagle Scholars Scholarship is awarded to a boarding student who has maintained a grade point average of 3.5 or better while at R-MA. The Austin Scholarship is named in honor of the James Austin Family and is awarded based up on overall merit. The McFall and Class of 1951 Scholarship is awarded to a student in good academic standing who exemplifies the ideals of knowledge, leadership and character.

She was also named to the Dean's List for the first academic quarter for achieving a grade point average above 3.3.

Randolph-Macon Academy (R-MA), founded in 1892, is a college-preparatory, coeducational boarding school for students in grades 6 through 12. Students in grades 9-12 participate in R-MA's 91st Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC), which is currently recognized as an Outstanding Unit. R-MA is affiliated with the United Methodist Church and is located in Front Royal, VA.
